If there was ever a man who knew luxury and streetwear, it was Virgil Abloh. Often likened to a millennial Karl Lagerfeld, the Ghanaian-American creative director was one of the few black designers to lead an iconic luxury brand as artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection. He revolutionized the director’s role in a way that always pushed boundaries, honored hip-hop, and wanted change. He passed away in November 2021 after a battle with cancer, but his legacy lives on. In June 2022, his AirForce 1 pre-launch collection will be available in 47 unique styles.
