Welcome to Week in Fashion, Bazaar’s at-a-glance guide to what’s hot in the industry.

Blackpink’s Lisa becomes the new face of Louis Vuitton

Lisa is no stranger to ambassadorship: The Blackpink member was named a global ambassador for Celine in 2020 and also became the face of MAC Cosmetics that same year, and on Tuesday she was named the newest face of Louis Vuitton, adding to her long list of accolades.

“We are incredibly excited to have Lisa as our house ambassador,” said Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s women’s collections. “She has a bold spirit and charisma that I find so appealing. She is as bold and creative in music as she is in fashion, and it’s an honor to have her with us on this journey.”

K-Pop singer Lisa appeared at the LV Fall/Winter ’24 show in Paris in March, hinting at a potential collaboration. It’s been an exciting summer for Lisa, who released her first solo single in three years, “Rockstar,” last month, which peaked at number four on the Billboard Global 200.

Martine Rose presents a unique autumn/winter collection

Martine Rose

For women in the know, Martine Rose is a label that fuses punk and hip-hop aesthetics with well-crafted design, and it’s a brand that has garnered a cult following since its 2007 launch.

The founder of the eponymous brand, known for bucking the trend and prioritizing community over commerce, held an intimate autumn/winter ’24 show in January, with queues packed with family and friends of the models who walked in the show.

Now they’re finally here, along with a few surprise pieces. The pieces are full of personality, from logo-printed denim to reimagined camo and crisp velvet tracksuits. Shop the whole collection here.

Laura Dern sells clothes at Vestiaire for charity

We’re in the era of celebrity closet sales, with stars from Jenna Lyons to Chloe Sevigny clearing out their wardrobes and giving priority to their fans. And now, Laura Dern is getting in on the action, and her sale is for a good cause.

The Big Little Lies star has partnered with luxury resale site Vestiaire Collective to host a charity sale to benefit Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading sex education and reproductive health resource organization.

Dern has been an advocate for sustainable clothing throughout her career, and this latest move is further proof of that: the Oscar winner will be donating 10 designer pieces from brands like Gucci, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta, and The Vampire’s Wife.

To promote the sale, Dern posted on Instagram: “In support of reproductive freedom, I’ve donated several outfits from my closet to @vestiaireco to help raise funds for @plannedparenthood. Vestiaire Collective is also donating to @plannedparenthood. Follow the link in our story or profile to shop the outfits at @vestiaireco. Everyone deserves health care free of shame, stigma and bias. #BansOffOurBodies.”

Luisa Via Roma comes to New York with its first store on Bond Street

Speaking of luxury retail, Luisa Via Roma, which opened in Italy in 1929 as a purveyor of the finest designer fashions and became a digital hotspot in 1999, has just opened its first brick-and-mortar store outside its home country in New York City.

The US flagship store will be located in the fashionable NoHo neighborhood, and the move signals Luisa Via Roma’s intention to expand globally.

According to a press release, the new store will stock ready-to-wear collections for women and men and will “highlight Luisa Via Roma’s labels catering to ‘outcast women’ who are thought leaders in culture, business, entertainment and philanthropy.”

Miu Miu’s new star-studded campaign features Cara Delevingne, Little Simz, Minnie, Ethel Kane and more

Miuccia Prada’s luxury fashion house, Miu Miu, boasts a devoted celebrity following that ranges from Gigi Hadid to Sydney Sweeney, and the brand has unveiled its celebrity-filled Fall/Winter 2024 campaign, “Individual Moments,” to highlight its star-studded following.

Photographed by Zoe Gartner, the campaign features Cara Delevingne, musician Ethel Kane, Charlotte Cardin, Little Simz, Minnie and model Caitlin Soetendahl, and captures the playfulness and glamour for which Miu Miu is famous.

A press release from the brand described the latest collection as follows: “A clothing vocabulary from childhood to adulthood. The Miu Miu Autumn/Winter 2024 collection by Miuccia Prada takes inspiration from the scope and gamut of people’s lives, with changing types of clothing reflecting the development of personalities that are both personal and universal.”

New Burberry classics put a fresh twist on wardrobe staples

Burberry is launching “Burberry Classics,” which the brand describes as “a collection of wardrobe foundations reimagined with Burberry’s unique lens.” The initiative sees Burberry take signature codes like the Burberry check and offer fresh twists on wardrobe staples. In its latest campaign, the brand does this with rainwear, from trench coats and Harrington jackets to parkas and capes.

To celebrate the launch of this latest collection, Burberry presents a David Georgadze-shot campaign starring models Gisele Norman, Lennon Gallagher and Kai Isaiah Jamal, which celebrates the long-standing heritage and design aspects that have made the London brand a staple.
