In my teens, I avoided moisturizers like the plague for fear of making my acne worse (which is a total myth, FYI – oily skin can be dry too), but over the last decade or so, I’ve become much more particular about moisturizers. In my early 20s, it wasn’t a big deal if I didn’t slather cream on my face every day, but these days, my face feels tight and dry if I don’t apply a facial serum and moisturizer right after washing my face, so moisturizer is pretty much a necessity. I’ve spent years testing the best moisturizers for oily skin, but now that I’m 35, I’m starting to notice that my skin’s needs are changing.
Of course, I still suffer from acne periodically, especially around the time of my period (when I turn to acne patches, BTW), but lately my skin has been feeling dry and less plump and firm. It’s nice not to look tired, but thankfully, I’ve found a moisturizer that addresses all of my concerns and has left my skin looking the best it’s ever been. In fact, it’s so good that it leaves other moisturizers in the dust. Enter Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer.
Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer
Still a relative newcomer to the beauty industry, Naturium was founded in 2020 with the goal of providing effective, high-quality skincare innovations at an affordable price point. For me, Naturium has been one of the most eye-catching new products in the last few years, and nearly every product I’ve tried has delivered on its promises. And I’m not the only one who worships the brand: Essentially, all of my beauty editor friends have at least one Naturium product in their collection and can’t stop raving about it. But for me, one of the most impressive products in the lineup is the Multi-Peptide Moisturizer; so impressive that I’ve repurchased it twice myself (as a beauty editor who’s always stocked with new skincare products waiting to be tried, this is a true stamp of approval).

Before we dive into the formula details, I want to say a few words about the packaging of this product. As I have skin that is prone to blemishes, I am keen to keep my skincare routine as hygienic as possible. I wash my face with a clean muslin every morning and evening, and I always have to thoroughly wash my hands before going near a moisturizer container. So when I saw that this product came with a pump dispenser, I thought I heard angels singing. Plus, the bottle itself is a squeeze tube, so you can use up every last milliliter of moisturizer. Packaging aside, what makes Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer truly special is what’s inside.

Formulated with peptides, encapsulated ethylated vitamin C and panthenol, this moisturizer is described by Naturium as “rich in nutrients” and looking at the ingredients list, it’s clear that the focus is on nourishing the skin and improving its overall appearance. The star of the show is, as the name suggests, the multi-peptide blend. Peptides are a fantastic ingredient that supports skin health by strengthening the skin barrier, encouraging collagen and elastin production and calming inflammation. Combining this technology with stabilized vitamin C to brighten and protect, and panthenol to help skin retain moisture and prevent dehydration, this moisturizer takes a multi-pronged approach to hydration. Its £21 price tag adds to its appeal.

The main purpose of Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer is to hydrate (check!), improve skin texture and smooth skin (check, check!), and deeply nourish and condition skin (packed!). And I loved this product from the first time I used it. It glides on skin, absorbs effortlessly, moisturizes and hydrates, but is never greasy. Interestingly, it works great both in the morning and at night. During the day, it can be layered beautifully under makeup and doubles as a perfect moisturizing primer. At night, it provides all the hydration your skin needs and repairs it overnight.
As someone with oily, blemish-prone skin that’s definitely starting to age (and I’m blessed with that, but I want to retain some of that youthful glow), I’m super impressed with the Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer because it hydrates, brightens, firms, and generally makes my skin look amazing. Those with super dry skin might want a formula that’s a little more enveloping, but I think anyone with combination, mature, sensitive, or acne-prone skin will be happy with this product as a great daily moisturizer.
