I’m heading to Glastonbury for the first time this year, so forgive me if I’m in full “goopcore” mode right now. Thankfully, unlike many other TikTok trends, this outdoorsy aesthetic actually produces practical wardrobe items that are timeless. Uniqlo’s Barn Jacket, available in their menswear department, is a fashion editor staple that’s just the right amount of oversized (I wear a size small), while bohemian fashion outfit Free People just released the perfect effortless striped skirt; just pair it with biker boots and a white tank top.

Despite their ubiquity, jeans always seem to be the hardest to pull off. Personally, I’ve always found the best way to drown out the noise is with recommendations. So, in the spirit of sharing, I wanted to tell you all about Aligne’s Turn-Up Jeans. When it comes to shoes, I have very little tolerance for discomfort, which is why I’ve been quietly happy about the emergence of the “ugly chic” shoe trend. I’ve been wearing my Shuv leather clogs by FitFlop (yes, that’s right) a lot these past few months, and I can honestly say they work just as well with a midi skirt as they do with denim. Speaking of fashion bling, hiking specialist The North Face is now available on Net-a-Porter, and the brand’s new twill pants are a real treat to give cargo pants a run for their money.

It’s official: The rugby shirt is the “basic” top to watch in 2024, and Mango’s green-and-blue iteration is satisfyingly loose. ’00s denim skirts are a bit out of whack this season, but smarter, more tailored iterations, like Align’s Mary Pleated Midi, have caught my attention. I also have to give a shout-out to Rokit Originals; this vintage store’s in-house line of upcycled items is all one-of-a-kind and wallet-friendly.

This season, sportswear is as much about practicality as it is about refined style. Cos’ scarf-detail trench coat puts an elegant twist on a functional staple. Similarly, Whistles’ cargo trousers come in chic brown, a fun alternative to the khakis and beiges that are currently proliferating in the trouser world.
