Alexa can translate and understand dozens of languages. Add one more to the list: how to talk to Gen Z.

Amazon has announced a new feature that will help Alexa teach you how to speak like Gen Z. Just say, “Alexa, talk to Gen Z,” and Alexa will tell you slang words and their definitions.

Initially, 20 terms were added, some of which you may already be familiar with: “Ick” means distaste, “tea” means gossip, “sus” means suspicious, “mid” means mediocre, and “rizz” means charisma.

Here are some Gen Z terms that Alexa knows: Do you know them?

1. “Drip.” A high-end fashion trend. “Have you seen that guy’s watch? It’s dripping.” Or you might describe someone as “drip-ish.”

2. “The numbers don’t add up” means that things don’t add up.

3. “You ate it.” Use this to praise someone for doing something well or stylishly. For example, “You ate it in that outfit,” or you can take it a step further and say, “You ate it all up.”

4. “You have a vibe.” This is used to describe a certain vibe you give off. For example, “Your outfit is great. You look like Beyoncé.”

5. “Mom.” An iconic or mentor-like person. An example Alexa gives is “Rihanna is a mother.”

6. “Air.” To intentionally ignore someone. As in, “Why is he air ignoring my messages?”

7. “Your [blank] “Era.” A period of time that is characterized by something distinctive. For example, “I am in the era of self-care.”

Or… I never use those words. This also works.
