Avon International has awarded Aptar Beauty, a world leader in dispensing systems, the Partner Beyond the Boundary supplier award in the Commitment for Life category.
Avon recognized Aptar Beauty’s outstanding performance in transforming an existing packaging solution that failed to meet sustainability goals. Through a joint effort, the Micro Airless packaging has been redesigned to reduce its environmental impact and carbon footprint, primarily through changes in decoration techniques and the integration of recycled materials.
Avon’s ‘Dare to be Great’ Challenge Avon launched a recognition program last year to encourage its suppliers to ‘Dare to be Great’. The program aims to foster resilience and agility in facing market challenges, driving value, sharing innovation and creating opportunities together. Aptar Beauty rose to this challenge.
We focus on the ‘Commitment for Life’ category, which contributes to environmental and social causes and promotes carbon reduction.
Transforming sustainable packaging
Aptar Beauty’s sustainability, engineering, and supply chain teams worked together to convert the existing Micro airless packaging used for Avon’s iconic Anew Clinical Anti-Wrinkle Smoothing Serum into a Micro Eco replacement. As a result, the raw materials used have been replaced with an average of 44% post-consumer recycled resin (PCR) and silver hot stamping has been eliminated to improve recyclability.
The redesigned solution – Micro Eco 30ml – uses Aptar Beauty’s in-house eco-design tool, developed in collaboration with software house Sphera, and boasts a 27.6% reduction in carbon footprint (CO2 equivalent). Additionally, by omitting hot stamping, customers benefited from overall package cost savings.

The award was presented on June 5th at Avon International’s Supplier Day event in Warsaw, Poland, attended by Aptar’s KAM Domenico Sardaro and Ryan Kenny, Vice President of Global Accounts.
