Black Fashion Fair has released Volume 0: SEEN, the first magazine to visually explore the influence and representation of Black culture in the fashion industry. This 200-page physical archive is a testament to the impact Black artists have had on fashion, and its pages are “about the power of collaboration and community,” says Antoine Gregory, founder of Black Fashion Fair and editor-in-chief of SEEN, in an exclusive press release.
Featuring the work of creative visionaries such as 24-year-old photographer Quil Lemons, former Reebok Global Creative Director Kerby Jean-Raymond, and luxury designer Brandon Blackwood, the magazine showcases the global impact Black designers have had on the fashion world and preserves their significant contributions to an industry where they are often overlooked, underappreciated, or exploited.[s] A tribute to the often-forgotten designers and trendsetters who helped Black creatives realize and reinvent their dreams.[ing] And reconsider[ing] “It’s a fashion image — a black fashion image.”
Black Fashion Fair’s inaugural magazine was created with the backing of innovative eyewear startup Warby Parker. “We’re honored to partner with Black Fashion Fair on their inaugural magazine. Every page is an inspiring testament to their commitment to community and creativity, a belief that Warby Parker shares,” co-founder and co-CEO Neil Blumenthal said in a press release.
Currently sold out, Volume 0: SEEN will be available for $95 on blackfashionfair.org and in Mulberry Iconic Magazine during New York Fashion Week. A limited edition acrylic box set and photo prints will be available to purchase for $300.
