In a sun-soaked TriBeCa loft, Calvin Klein’s Brazilian creative director, Francisco Costa, channeled the New York cool that is the label’s signature and a harbinger of modern, urban fashion.

In addition to the ubiquitous black, there was white, blue and black plaid with a dusty pink splash. Sharp suiting was teamed with low-cut V-neck silk slip blouses, and buckled and strappy accessories were used, following a trend also seen on the Vera Wang and Alexander Wang catwalks.
Large fur collars, another key trend this season, were prominent, as were leather panels cut into skirts to create the illusion of movement.

Check patterns were mixed, with a dress featuring a different check on each sleeve, a third check on the front and another on the back. The fur coat was thick and had textured panels.
In a departure from Calvin Klein’s usual style, Costa paired silk dresses with oversized tribal-style pendant necklaces and large gemstones sewn onto the fronts, and the models accessorized with practical loafers.

There were also white and yellow animal print, tiger print, leopard print and dalmatian print dresses paired with large black and white animal print coats.
