Proenza Schouler put a unique spin on contemporary elegance as he dressed Hari Nef, Rebecca Hall, and Molly Gordon to the CFDA Fashion Awards held at the American Museum of Natural History on Monday. Each woman brought something distinctive to the table.
Hari Nef wore a Proenza Schouler Fear black leather dress with delicate silk fringes, a minimalist yet strong piece from the Spring 2025 collection. Known for her bolder looks, especially her recent “more-is-more” Valentino aesthetic, Hari’s choice here was a welcome departure. This stripped-down style felt fresh.

Then there was Rebecca Hall, whose fashion choices I always support. But this Proenza Schouler Emin dress and pants veered a little too close to daytime attire. Paired with perforated slingback flats, this combination leans towards a more casual vibe, struggling with how the cream and white combination clashes rather than coordinating. Each element had potential, but when put together, we felt that a photocall and luncheon would be more appropriate than an awards ceremony.

Molly Gordon, who is quickly becoming the center of attention in her own right, chose a cobalt blue Proenza Schouler Jackie dress from the Spring 2025 collection. This piece embodies exactly the sophisticated and confident style that I love. Paired with matching cobalt sandals, her look felt cohesive and fresh. This is a piece that you can’t help but wear.
