The differences between Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads and Paula’s Choice liquid exfoliant are the ingredients, texture, and price. The obvious difference is that Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads are literal wipes soaked in product, so the texture is more alcohol-based. The box contains 30 individual packs and requires a two-step process. Meanwhile, Paula’s Choice comes in a 4-ounce bottle, has a lighter texture (although some reviewers found it oily), and can be applied using a cotton pad or your fingers.
Dr. Dennis Gross contains both BHA and AHA, which means the formula is stronger and not suitable for all skin types. Paula’s Choice, on the other hand, uses salicylic acid as its main ingredient to address redness, clogged pores, and more. According to Skin Sort, these products share five common ingredients: citric acid, lactic acid, yarrow extract (Achillea millefolium), sodium benzoate, and water. Finally, the price difference is quite large, with Paula’s Choice costing $57 less than Dr. Dennis Gross.
Dr. Dennis Gross vs. Paula’s Choice: Which should you buy?
Both products have changed my perspective on chemical exfoliants and I feel much more confident about incorporating them into my skincare routine. Both are great products, but I personally find Paula’s Choice to be gentler on my skin. Don’t get me wrong, both are great at evening out skin tone, smoothing texture, and clarifying pores, but the Dr. Dennis Gross formula is stronger and a bit more uncomfortable (and more expensive). Overall, I found both to be effective on my breakouts, so I’d say they’re both winners.
