Fashion and lifestyle brand MUJI joins BigCommerce to fuel growth in Europe

As part of its new long-term growth plans, the Japanese brand will leverage BigCommerce’s open, partner-centric platform and multi-storefront capabilities to support MUJI’s European online stores.

AUSTIN, Texas & LONDON, May 14, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BigCommerce (Nasdaq: BIGC), an open SaaS configurable ecommerce platform for fast-growing and established B2C and B2B brands and retailers, today announced that Japanese fashion and lifestyle brand MUJI has launched a new online storefront on the BigCommerce platform to drive growth in Europe.

MUJI has over 1,000 physical stores worldwide, selling over 7,000 Japanese-inspired products ranging from clothing to home goods, food and housing. In Europe, MUJI has physical stores in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Finland, and its online store ships to 15 European countries.

Since going live with BigCommerce, we’ve already seen improvements in traffic and conversions.”

MUJI worked closely with London-based e-commerce agency GPMD to launch new online stores in five key markets: UK, France, Germany/Austria, Italy, Spain/Portugal, plus stores for the rest of Europe. Each instance offers localized language, catalog, pricing, categories, shipping methods, and payments. This structure allows MUJI to easily add new markets in the future.

BigCommerce features an extensive API and app store, giving MUJI access to popular third-party plugins that can be quickly turned on to enhance store functionality and customer experience. Leveraging BigCommerce’s open SaaS platform and partner-centric approach, MUJI is currently integrating features with Adyen, PayPal, Klevu, and Klaviyo.
