Val Venis, known for his outspoken right-wing beliefs and controversial statements, was recently embroiled in a trademark dispute where he claims to have received death threats for his views. Venis, who has been outspoken in his opposition to transgender rights, harshly criticized Cody Rhodes earlier this year, calling him a “Satan worshipper” for supporting such causes. Venis called on Rhodes to stop promoting what he called a “mental disorder.”
The trademark dispute began when a Twitter user named HaangEmHigh noticed that the trademark for “Val Venis” had expired and attempted to register it. They launched a website called “ValVenis.com,” which advocates for LGBTQ rights, particularly transgender rights, and prominently features transgender pride colors. The effort appears to be part of a broader effort to secure the trademark and repurpose the name for advocacy work.
The group has also begun collaborating with other Twitter users to sell custom transgender-themed stickers under the name “Val Venis,” a deliberate effort explicitly aimed at using the Val Venis name to support trans rights and LGBTQ activism.
In response to these developments, Val Venis revealed on Twitter that he has been receiving threats for nearly five years. He called the threats “left-wing, pro-pedophile, mental illness-affirming, atheist” and accused them of bullish behavior online. Venis claims that these people have threatened to protest his events, spitting in his face, assaulting him, and even threatening to kill him. However, he asserts that none of these threats have been carried out, calling the threats “cowards.”
“Left-wing pro-pedophile, mental illness-affirming, atheist weirdos are always on social media bullshit. They’ve threatened to show up to events I’ve booked to protest, spit in my face, punch me, and even threatened to kill me. This shit has been going on for almost five years. These moldy basement dwellers have never carried out any of their threats. They’re cowards.”
It’s unclear whether Venis’s threats are true or if his claims are exaggerated, but he remains a polarizing figure who is not afraid to publicly express his controversial opinions. As the trademark dispute moves forward, it will be interesting to see how the situation develops and whether Venis retains the rights to his former wrestling persona.
