Whether we like it or not, Gen Z seems to be bringing back old fashion trends.
Unfortunately, some of the less popular trends of the past 20 years or so are coming back into the limelight, and the younger generation is fully embracing the trends that made the past trends disgusting.
It’s not just teens and young adults who are taking notice, Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Robert Pattinson, and even high fashion brands are all taking part in this particular clothing resurgence.

It feels like just yesterday that Gen Z was labeling denim items as “tacky.” In fact, that was just a year ago, but I keep up with trends and everything.
You may remember having to do a gymnastics routine where you stretch, bend and pull your legs up to wear them so you look good when you go out.
If you struggle with denim, it will become outdated after many years. It’s the fashion industry’s nerve to ignore things easily, isn’t it?
However, if you’ve been wearing skinny jeans for a while, you might want to pull them out from the depths of your wardrobe, since apparently they’re back in.
Don’t just take my word for it, but take my word for it from fashion designers who recently showed their fall/winter collections on the runway and have included skinny jeans as a common denominator in their outfits.
Styled by the likes of Miu Miu, Balenciaga (below) and Alexander McQueen for their catwalks, it’s only a matter of time before we see them on the streets again.

Luke Raymond, Farfetch’s senior menswear editor, spoke to GQ about this trend:
“Add in a nostalgic throwback to the #indiesleaze of the early 2000s, which is gaining momentum, and you have the perfect storm for a skinny jeans resurgence,” he explained.
Its aesthetic is recognizable by its use of dark eyeliner, equally thin scarves, cheetah print, mesh, and, of course, tight denim.
Celebrities in the 2000s loved wearing this kind of style, especially those who were at the forefront of the wave of edgy alternative fashion that took the world by storm. Yes, this included the bizarre jeggings craze. But let’s leave that for another day…
Shelby Goldfaden, MMLaFleur’s merchandising director, told the New York Post, “In the fashion industry, everything that goes out ends up coming back,” which translates into “structure. It added that it has a “timeless” style with “easy use and ease of use”.
“We’re moving away from the days of relaxed fits, and skinny jeans offer a sophisticated silhouette that pairs well with both casual and dressy tops. We’re also showcasing the statement shoes you’ll be seeing everywhere this fall. “It’s also perfect for that,” she emphasized.

This is strange, since people like Drake and Billie Eilish still wear baggy fits and it’s a big part of today’s fashion, but Michael, founder of vintage retailer Endyma -As Kardamakis said, we can be rewound. Posted in GQ about baggy clothes.
“Shapes come and go, but one of the things I love about the oversized silhouettes that are so prevalent today is that they allow the wearer to look directional and at the same time very comfortable.”
After all, it’s all part of a 20-year trend cycle, and things are bound to come back. However, several industry experts hope that if skinny jeans are to make a comeback, many people’s wishes will be taken into account. In the 2020s, we pursue comfort.
