Forbes Today’s NYT “Connections” Saturday July 27th Hints and Answers by Chris Holt
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend. The heatwaves are approaching where I live and I don’t want to go anywhere but in front of the air conditioner.
Get today’s NYT Connections tips and answers straight away.
How to play Connection
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words, and your task is to uncover the connections between the words and organize them into four groups of four – groups could be horror movie series, types of verbs, rappers, etc.
Each puzzle has only one solution, so be careful with words that fit into multiple categories – shuffling the words might make the connections between them easier to see.
Each group is color-coded: the yellow group is usually the easiest to guess, blue and green are in between, and the purple group is usually the hardest to guess. The purple group often contains wordplay, so keep that in mind.
Select four words that you think go together,[送信]Press . If you guess wrong, you will lose a life. If you are close to the correct group, you may get a message that you are one word away from getting it right, but you still need to think about which word to swap.
If you get it wrong four times it’s game over, so use our hints to stop that from happening. If you’re really struggling, check out today’s Connections answers.

What is the answer to today’s connection?
Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to know the answer to today’s Connections.
This is your final warning!
Today’s connection answer is…
Yellow group — parts of a book (cover, jacket, pages, spine) Green group — cat fur patterns (CALICO, TABBY, TORTOISESHELL, TUXEDO) Blue group — nervous, singular (BUTTERFLY, JITTER, NERVE, WILLY) Purple group — starting with vegetables (BEETHOVEN, CORNUCOPIA, KALEIDOSCOPE, PEACOCK)
I’m glad that we played a perfect game today and achieved our sixth consecutive win.
At first I thought maybe WILLY and BEETHOVEN had a series of movies named after animals, but other than that it didn’t make sense. I don’t know much about cats, but there was a Strands puzzle with a similar theme recently, so that helped me get the green ones first. The yellow ones also caught my eye, so I was able to sort those out too.
That leaves the two hardest groups. I suspected there was some wordplay in the purple group, but I couldn’t figure it out. But JITTER and BUTTERFLY were enough to make me blue, so the purple group won.
That’s all for today’s Connections tips and answers, if you need any tips and answers for Sunday’s game then be sure to check out my blog.
PS: I just watched the latest in the series, Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, it was full of fan service, but it was a fun time. I may be in the minority in that I liked all five Ghostbusters movies. The latest is currently streaming on Netflix in the US and Crave in Canada.
