The human rights movement Equality Vote PAC has released its latest political ad, “Cut it Out,” which satirizes what it sees as a serious threat to Americans’ personal freedoms. The ad, which features a misplaced cardboard cutout of former President Donald Trump, highlights a sharp criticism: Trump and the MAGA Republican Party have committed a number of crimes, from controlling access to abortion and contraception to interfering with marriage. Equality and employment rights are about to invade the most personal parts of American life.

In “Cut It Out,” cutouts of Mr. Trump appear in unexpected and unpleasant places, such as lurking in a man’s shower and floating behind a pharmacy counter, and HRC shows off MAGA’s invasive It highlights what we consider to be important issues. “Do you enjoy your privacy?” the narrator asks. “So are Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.” The ad ends with a group of people tossing cardboard playing cards into a recycling bin, and the message: “Keep the MAGA freaks out of work.” Masu.

The release is part of HRC Equality Votes PAC’s $2 million advertising campaign targeting “equality voters” in battleground states such as Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. HRC says these voters form a multiracial, multigenerational bloc focused on advancing LGBTQ+ rights and protecting individual freedoms. In early October, PAC launched three other ads: “Not Going Back,” “Shadows,” and “Vote Your Way.” Each ad focuses on an urgent issue, with “Shadows” drawing attention to Project 2025, the Republican-backed plan to dismantle LGBTQ+ protections and reproductive rights under President Trump’s second term. are.

“As Governor Walz said, voters want politicians to ‘mind their own business,’” Sam Lau, a spokesperson for HRC Equality Vote PAC, told The Advocate. “But Donald Trump and other MAGA politicians know that their plans to interfere in our private lives are deeply unpopular with voters of all stripes, and that’s why they want to promote hate and division. That’s why we’re relying on the final message. Our new ad, “Cut it Out,” uses humor to shine a light on these very strange and very harmful policies, and to encourage voters to take ownership of their rights and freedoms. It reminds us that we have the power to protect. ”

In contrast, the Trump campaign turned to anti-transgender rhetoric in the final campaign, spending millions on ads designed to paint the Democratic Party as an extreme supporter of transgender rights. But this approach can backfire, with 54 percent of likely voters viewing such ads as “mean and unruly,” according to a recent Data for Progress study. 74 percent believe transgender people deserve dignity and respect. More than half of respondents said they would prefer a candidate who supports transgender rights, and 80% said both parties should focus on economic issues such as inflation rather than divisive cultural topics. .
