introduction
The HSOS1 Urban Household Assessment is a quarterly review of the humanitarian situation inside cities in Northeast Syria (NES). The assessment will collect multi-disciplinary information from host communities and internally displaced households in Al-Hasakeh City. This situation overview presents findings on access to services, living conditions, economic conditions, and priority needs across accessible areas of the city.
As the majority of humanitarian responses in the NES target urban areas, particularly outside camps and host communities,2 this assessment provides a comprehensive and regular review of the humanitarian situation in cities affected by increasingly complex disasters. Addressing the need for information. The crisis affected hundreds of thousands of people.
Urban populations face persistent insecurity, damaged infrastructure, and complex demographic dynamics due to continued economic deterioration and the effects of climate change, resulting in unstable markets and worsening access to food and water. Existing vulnerabilities have been exacerbated.
The HSOS Urban Household Assessment is carried out in collaboration with the Northeast Syria (NES) NGO Forum. The complete multi-sector descriptive analysis can be accessed online or downloaded as an Excel file. All HSOS products will continue to be accessible through the REACH Resource Center.
