A Dollar Tree customer has gone viral on TikTok after showing customers some of the hidden name-brand products being sold at the discount store.
Diane (@dianeandstuff) was similarly blown away by the number of items she found in the store, writing “OMG WHAT” in a text overlay on her video, which has been viewed more than 116,100 times.
What products did content creators find?
Diane seemed most amazed by the Stila brand makeup she found at Dollar Tree, where she showed off a variety of lip glosses and eye shadows to viewers.
“I finally found Stila cosmetics,” Diane said, “and I’m really excited about this lip gloss.” She picked up some and put it in her bag.
She then introduced viewers to another product that appears to be sold at Dollar Tree: dish soap. She said the brand Dapple sells a “really good” soap that’s suitable for cleaning Stanley brand water bottles.
“I’m definitely going to pick this up,” Diane said.
Before she left, she showed viewers three more products she was planning to buy: a lemon-scented foam dish spray, a disinfectant spray, and a mug.
“I regret not buying this mug the last time it was available,” Diane said. “I’ll definitely buy it.”
Does Dollar Tree always sell name brand products?
Diane isn’t the first content creator to claim that her local Dollar Tree sells name-brand beauty products, often in plain packaging: In December, another creator said she’d spotted brands like CoverGirl, Maybelline, and Rimmel London in the store.
But the products weren’t easy to find: Some had the brand name front and center, while others were wrapped in unbranded packaging.
Still, it’s not uncommon for discount stores to sell these products, and according to Reader’s Digest, Dollar Tree often stocks these branded products because they’re overstocked or classified as last season’s merchandise.
Still, viewers were shocked to find that they could purchase high-quality makeup products at such low prices.
“I can buy Silta at Dollar Tree! What a great time!” one woman said.
“Oh my goodness, the Dollar Tree is gone. See you at 8am,” another user added.
“I’ll go tomorrow,” cried another.
