ATLANTA, Ga. – The Atlanta Open finals begin this weekend, and three Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be competing.
Andres Martin has earned a wildcard into the singles main draw and will be competing in his fourth ATP tournament. Martin will play in College Night for the third consecutive year on Tuesday, July 23. In 2023, Martin defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, at College Night to earn his first professional main draw victory. The Flowery Branch, Georgia native faced former Yellow Jacket Christopher Eubanks at College Night last year.
Current assistant coach Kevin King has qualified for the qualifiers and will face JJ Wolf on Saturday’s first day of the tournament. King, who turned professional after graduating, is the first Yellow Jacket to compete on College Night, starting the tradition. King qualified last year and also played in the doubles main draw with Martin. Joining King in Saturday’s qualifiers will be new Yellow Jacket Nate Bonnett, who will face Billy Harris.
Tickets for the 2024 Atlanta Open at Atlantic Station are on sale now and can be purchased through the tournament’s website.
