Trends come and go, but kitchen trends tend to last a long time, so it’s worth updating your colour scheme.

Our 2025 kitchen cabinet color trend ideas have something for everyone, and we’re seeing a real shift towards hues that are reminiscent of nature.

Check out the kitchen cabinet color trends below and choose your favorite one.

Prices were accurate at the time of publication.

1. Natural wood

(Image courtesy of Bakes & Kropp)

Last year, we saw a rise in rough-hewn wooden kitchen cabinets, both plain and painted, and this trend will undoubtedly continue into 2025.

“We’re seeing a growing trend towards natural wood cabinet finishes, with rich walnut and oak creating a warm feel that many homeowners are looking for. Particularly in our signature Soft Modern kitchens, the contrast between natural wood and more refined materials creates a balance that feels contemporary, yet timeless,” says Paul Klopp, co-founder and business director of Bakes & Klopp.

You can use a mix and match of painted cabinets, as shown here, or use natural wood throughout. One way to bring more wood into your kitchen is by opting for artisanal accessories, such as Nordstrom’s Acacia Wood Serving Bowl. It’s one of those items so useful you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

2. Deep Blue

(Images by Otto Tiles & Design / Brooke Copp-Barton Interiors / Megan Taylor Photography)

Blue has been a big trend for kitchen cabinets in the past, but not this color. It’s a deep ink blue that’s brighter than navy and is definitely a statement color to choose.

We spoke to Damla Turgut, founder and creative director of Otto Tiles & Design, about her thoughts on the new shades.

“Moving away from navy, ink blue offers a more intense hue, yet is sophisticated and timeless. All these strong tones contrast with the continuing popularity of soft blush tones.”

For a similarly punchy blue, check out Lick’s Blue 111 Matt – a refreshingly bold shade that creates a fantastic contrast when paired with vibrant white.

3. Lush greenery

We transformed our sage green cabinets into this beautiful verdant color, which we first heard about here. Softer than sage but not as cheery as apple green, this shade is very soothing and easy on the eyes.

“Green is huge this year! There’s so much interest and so many options,” says Paul Kropp. “From deep forest greens for a more formal look to lighter pastel greens for a more airy feel, green is a really versatile color.”

4. White

White in the kitchen is always on trend, especially if you like a minimalist style, but a new way to use white in your kitchen cabinets is to feature colour elsewhere. Jamie Watkins, co-founder of Divine Savages, explains:

“The white cabinets made the small kitchen feel spacious and modern, and they gave us the neutral base color we needed, allowing us to experiment with colors on the walls and backsplash.”

This is exactly what we predict for 2025. Jamie recommends pairing white units with light colours if you’re introducing patterned wallpaper to maintain a sense of space. He also recommends using blush pink tiles to keep the colour palette consistent. “White has a timeless and versatile appeal – it offers a clean, crisp look that can be adapted to a range of design styles, from modern to traditional. Plus, white surfaces reflect natural light better than darker tones, helping to maximise the natural brightness of your kitchen,” he adds.

But you don’t have to choose an intense, bright white: Look for a white that’s more off-white, a fresh white that’s less clinical, like Benjamin Moore’s White Heron OC-57.

5. Almost Black

(Image courtesy of Farrow & Ball)

While not for the faint of heart, stunning black or near-black cabinets, when done right, will be all the rage in 2025. The key to making this bold look work is how you balance your cabinets with the rest of your space.

“Don’t be afraid to go dark with your cabinets, especially if you’re matching them with a nice neutral colour on the walls. Dark kitchens are striking yet timeless and are great for creating presence, especially in smaller rooms. If your cabinets are lower level, it works even better as they add ‘structure’ to the space. Consider something elegant like our blackest blue banister,” advises Patrick O’Donnell, brand ambassador at Farrow & Ball.

If you’re looking for bold, solid color wall and floor tiles, check out Wayfair’s honeycomb mosaic wall and floor tiles. A color scheme like this one will really catch your eye.

6. Blush Pink

As we move into 2025, blush pink is here to stay and will be a popular color for kitchen cabinets as a great counterpoint to the darker, richer tones. Why? Because blush pink is versatile and pairs with almost any color. From navy to apple green, black to aubergine, investing in blush cabinets gives you the freedom to add accents whenever and wherever you want. It’s like the new neutral.

That’s why Helen Parker, Creative Director of deVOL Kitchens, is a big fan: “At deVOL we keep our colour options fairly minimal and only add new ones every once in a while. Our new blush pink, named ‘Princelet Pink’ after one of my favourite East London streets, has become a favourite with everyone. The colour is barely noticeable and has a soft, skin-like tone, which makes it the perfect match with the black and green. It’s not a contrast, it’s just a quiet, subtle blend.”

7. Earthy terracotta

Create a cosy atmosphere in your kitchen with this muted terracotta. Perfect for north-facing kitchens where there is less natural light and the kitchen feels visually colder, this shade creates an instant feeling of homeliness.

Ruth Mottershead, creative director at Little Green, says these earthy colours are the way to go: “We’ve noticed a growing desire to surround ourselves with soothing, calming colours that are not only easy to mix and match, but also bring a sense of tranquility and serenity to the home.”

We’ve certainly noticed a trend towards more muted colours dominating the home, Ruth continues: “This is reflected in the growing popularity of neutral and earthy colours, which have an inherent warmth. These hues can easily be incorporated into both contemporary and traditional homes, providing the perfect backdrop for rustic natural finishes such as oak and dark woods, as well as stone and quarry tile floors.”

Anthropologie’s Lyla Solid Side Plates are the perfect addition to your terracotta kitchen design.
