Last football season saw new game day style inspiration hit the scene. Kristin Juszczyk, wife of San Francisco 49ers running back Kyle Juszczyk, turned a lot of heads when she showed off her homemade style on game day. Not only has she created custom items for her own sideline appearances, but she’s also created gear for the likes of Simone Biles and Olivia Culpo.
Her process looks like this: She sources game day clothing (jerseys, t-shirts, etc.), sketches designs, and hand-remakes each vintage item into a chic game-day look. Her best pieces include 49ers-themed jean jackets, down vests, and corset tops.
For the 49ers’ latest game, Oct. 27’s Sunday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys, designers focused on seasonal fashion. Temperatures are dropping and Juszczyk’s game day fashion is following suit. So this time, instead of wearing a cropped vest like I did last time on game day, I chose something a little more fall-appropriate.
She trimmed a vintage 49ers sweater with denim accents to create a collared zip-up jacket. She paired the chic design with long cut-off jeans and knee-high boots, shoes more firmly in line with her fall aesthetic.
We’re not the only ones who admired her latest game-day fashion piece. Kristen Harper, wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff, took to the comments on Juszczyk’s Instagram post and praised his great style. “This is my favorite look ever,” she enthused. Several other followers and fans echoed Harper’s opinion, claiming that the knit denim jacket is her best work to date.
As the season progresses, Juszczyk’s fashion will become even more seasonal. Towards the end of last season, when the 49ers faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl IV, her designs proved to be the perfect example of winter game day style. Juszczyk made jersey puffer coats for himself on the sideline and happily made a couple of similar styles for the likes of Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes, who attended a late-season Chiefs game in custom gear.
In other words, Juszczyk has definitely made a big name for himself when it comes to handmade game day fashion. With the help of her unique style, she takes her sideline style to the next level every week.
