After two years away from the CFDA Fashion Awards, Kylie Jenner is back and ready for some big moments on the red carpet. The star wore a black feathered dress by Jean Paul Gaultier to the event in New York City. Her hair was up-styled.

This year’s ceremony will honor industry giants, including designer Michael Kors and this year’s fashion icon, Erykah Badu.

In the November issue of ELLE, Jenner talked about how she came to be a frequent attendee of Paris Fashion Week shows. “I woke up one day and thought, ‘I want to go to Paris Couture Week,'” Jenner said. Her first season was “so much fun, I didn’t sleep the whole time. It gave me a taste of couture. Now I can’t go back.”

Although attending Paris Fashion Week this year was a bit stressful, she said: It’s hard to have so many iconic looks because you’re always trying to outdo the last one, but I think all I can do right now is stay true to myself, be classic, and wear what I feel is great. I think that’s where my head is. ”

She also rejected the idea that her style was quiet luxury. “I think it’s actually going in the opposite direction,” she said. “I’ve certainly had my proverbial moments of quiet luxury, but I’m always experimenting. I think there’s a darker femininity underlying my authentic style. “Part of this change in style is because I haven’t had kids in a few years.” The first part of my 20s was having kids and figuring out what my personal style was. It was about learning and then losing it. I didn’t know how to wear clothes and gained 60 pounds from two pregnancies. It took me a year to find myself again. Now, at 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever before. ”

To celebrate the 2024 CFDA Awards and this year’s partnership with Amazon Luxury Stores, use code ELLELUX to enjoy $250 off orders of $500 or more. Offer excludes Lalord and Elie Saab.

Alyssa Bailey is senior news and strategy editor at ELLE.com, where she oversees coverage of celebrities and royals, particularly Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. She previously held roles at InStyle and Cosmopolitan. When I’m not working, I love running around Central Park, making people take #ootd photos, and exploring New York City.
