Black Fashion Week MN returns May 3-11, showcasing the talented creatives in the Twin Cities fashion industry. The organization is in its seventh year of providing a platform for designers, artists, and creatives of color to showcase their talents and skills. The lineup of events taking place across the Twin Cities includes:

A private prelude to spring

Kick off Black Fashion Week MN with a chic party and show off your best spring looks. Get a sneak peek at Julia Starr, one of BFWMN’s talented designers and entertainers. The event will be held at the historic Hewing Hotel. Tickets start at $25. Friday, May 3, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Hewing Hotel 300 Washington Ave. N., Minneapolis, 651-468-0400, eventbrite.com

Classes by BFWMN X Porte Agency – Model Call 101

BFWMN has partnered with Porte Agency, a Black, veteran and woman-owned management agency in Minnesota. This powerhouse duo aims to teach models the dos and don’ts of auditioning. Participants will receive a BFWMN model bag, journal and comp card. Tickets for the class start at $30. Saturday, May 4, 1 p.m., 77 13th Ave. NE., Mpls., eventbrite.com

Black Girl Magic Fashion Show

Join BFWMN to celebrate the best moments of Black Girl Magic. The fashion show will feature many talented designers, including Mystic Queen 557, NdaRa’s Jewels, No Excuses Brand, JMl Fashion, Mara with the Curls, Luxe by Dolly, and more. Be sure to stop by the show and support our small vendors. Tickets to the show start at $30. Street fashion show

The Twin Cities fashion community is gearing up to see several creative designers walk the runway at the Streets Are Watchin’ Fashion Show. Designers at the show include headliner Pip the Brand, as well as Youngest in Charge Clothing, Wet by Bre, FRM Merch, Lost Adventure Clothing and more. Tickets start at $30. Minnesota Met Gala

Black Fashion Week concludes with the Minnesota Met Gala. “The Met” of course stands for extraordinary multicultural talent. The theme of the evening is “Be Iconic.” With Chadwick Phillips as host, music by Cousin Christopher, and of course, a ton of incredible designers, this night is sure to wow you. Be sure to join us for the Iconic After Party as we continue the celebration of Black Fashion Week. Tickets start at $75 for the show and $30 for the after party.
