Niecy Nash Betts looks back at Reno 911! Humorous costumes.
The award-winning actress, 54, appeared on the Oct. 30 episode of the New Heights podcast with Jason Kelsey and Travis Kelsey, in which she played Lieutenant Lynisha Williams in the mockumentary-style sitcom. He talked about the fake booty he wore when he performed. It lasted from 2003 to 2009.
“Can I ask you about Reno 911!?” That was a show that Travis and I loved ever since we were little. you were amazing Was it a lot of fun working on that show? ” asked Jason during a rapid-fire Q&A.
“It was so much fun, so much fun. The worst thing about it and the best thing about it was the booty that I wore in it,” she said, referring to the prosthetic butt she wore in the series. I remembered while doing so.

Ms Nashbetts explained that she took a mold of her real butt and “enlarged it three times”, which was controversial. “When we shot in the winter, it was really nice because it wasn’t cold at all outside. It was always warm. But in the summer, I felt like I was going to die,” she said.
“So you had a BBL.” [Brazilian butt lift] “At Reno 911!” joked Jason, and Nash Betts agreed. “This was before it became popular, right?”
The topic of Reinisha’s butt came up in January when Nash-Betts appeared on the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. When asked why she came up with the idea to wear a prosthetic butt, she replied that she wanted her character to look like the women in her life.
“The women in my family never saw it on TV. Now you can buy ass on every corner. And it wasn’t popular to have it all…I want to say You know what? I went to so many boot fittings that you can’t even fathom. They were building straight up and I couldn’t get it right,” she said.
Wanting to achieve the most authentic look possible, Naschbetts recalled taking one of her friends to the fitting. “She had a natural slumma-jumma. You can see that you have to start at the hips and wrap it up. You got the booty.”

Nash Betts returned to the Renoverse in 2020 when the series was revived on Quibi.
The original series, which inspired the movie Reno 911!: Miami Police Parody, ran for six seasons and was helmed by creators and cast members Robert Ben Gallant, Thomas Lennon, and Kelly Kenny Silver, I’m back to writing the season. Reported.
Cedric Yarbrough, Carlos Alazraki, Ian Roberts, Joe Lo Truglio, and Mary Birdsong are also included in the recast.
“It was so much fun for me to come back and put on the uniform and get together with my friends again in an unscripted environment. It felt like time had passed,” Nash Betts told PEOPLE at the time. ” said.
“I don’t care what I hear on the street. I take credit only for Reno being back, because all these years we’ve been away from television. I email the gang every month and say, “Guys, we should get back together, let’s do it again.” I think I kept putting it in the universe and it showed up. ”
