Overcoming criticism in the modeling world

Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban knows how cruel the internet can be. The 16-year-old daughter of country music star Keith Urban and legendary actress Nicole Kidman recently launched a modeling career. The comments she made after making her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week would have been more appropriate for a criminal than a teenage girl. Comments range from criticism of her walk and appearance to accusations of nepotism. Sunday Rose herself couldn’t have been happier. She said: “I’ve always wanted to do this, so I was really happy when the offer came. And now the day has finally arrived.” Her parents, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, were also in attendance and saw their daughter walk down the runway. was shining proudly.

Suday Rose is not the only celebrity child whose career choices have been criticized as a result of mere nepotism. Meg Ryan recently went on the defensive for her son Jack Quaid. Meg said it was negative to say that Jack’s career only existed thanks to her connection with his father Dennis Quaid. In fact, Jack Quaid commented shortly afterwards that he would be remiss not to acknowledge that he is “a very privileged person.” He said acknowledging his privilege doesn’t necessarily mean ignoring him or undermining his talent.

I think Jack Quaid is spot on. Having connections with Hollywood heavyweights can certainly bring you opportunities, but if you don’t take action, those opportunities will dry up. Just ask Jaden Smith. I know from personal experience how difficult it is to even get into the Hollywood audition door. I spent seven years in that city trying to get my big break, and all I had to show for it was a few episodes of Fox’s Punchline, which was canceled after two seasons.

Hollywood is no different from any other industry. It’s easy to criticize celebrities who are already in the spotlight by pointing out things that are common to society as a whole. If you are the son of a plumber, your chances of becoming a plumber’s apprentice are pretty high. If your parents owned a restaurant, you’ll probably end up owning a restaurant when you’re older, whether you want to or not.

Happy Sunday to Rose Kidman Urban. You won your father’s lottery. I hope it goes well.
