Philippine Fashion Week plans to shift focus and expand its reach as a creative outlet within and outside the fashion industry
For nearly three decades, Philippine Fashion Week has celebrated the creative endeavors of Filipino designers and the country’s unique fashion culture. Now, the event has changed its focus and expanded its scope to serve as a “launching pad” for burgeoning designers to build their careers and make meaningful contributions to the local fashion industry and beyond. That’s what I’m aiming for.
This shift builds on a commitment to reinventing the runway, a move that signals a broader purpose beyond a series of runway shows. The new role encompasses seven key lifestyle areas: fashion, dining, beverages, home, travel, arts and entertainment, and wellness. With the expansion of the runway, Philippine Fashion Week is turning into a platform to showcase new talent from various industries.
