The fashion and lifestyle retail giant is now expanding its partnership with expert designer and disability advocate Victoria Jenkins to “make adaptive fashion affordable for everyone.”
In an ongoing partnership, Jenkins is currently working with the retailer’s design team to introduce more adaptive clothing, following the announcement of its first underwear collection collaboration in January.
The collection is designed to “meet a wide range of disabilities, chronic health conditions, age-related needs, and postoperative patient comfort and access needs.” This is achieved by adapting fixtures and openings and changing the design.
The retailer said details about the partnership will be revealed later this year.
Ms. Jenkins is the founder of adaptive fashion brand Unhidden, and Ms. Primark said the latest development “continues her mission to normalize universal design through the lens of her own journey with disability.” said.
Anne-Marie Cregan, Primark Trading Director, added: “Like us, Victoria is extremely passionate about making fashion accessible to everyone, and learning from her, we are committed to delivering a high level of adaptive fashion that is more affordable. We look forward to working together to accelerate our ambitions.” “
Mr Jenkins added: “For Primark to recognize the needs of the disabled and chronically ill community and address them in such a meaningful way will change the lives of millions of people.” .
Unhidden launched its first range in 2020, became a member of the British Fashion Council and became the first adaptive brand to show at London Fashion Week.
