Primark teams up with designer Victoria Jenkins to expand adaptive fashion offering

Primark continues to support, create and promote fashion for people with disabilities.

Designer Victoria Jenkins

The fashion and lifestyle retail giant has now expanded its partnership with expert designer and disability advocate Victoria Jenkins to “make disability fashion affordable and accessible to everyone.”

The ongoing partnership will see Jenkins work with the retailer’s design team to introduce more adaptive clothing after launching their first underwear collection collaboration in January.

The collection is designed to “address the comfort and access needs of patients with a range of disabilities, chronic health conditions, age-related needs and post-surgery.” This is achieved through adapted fastenings and openings, as well as design modifications.

The retailer said more details about the partnership will be announced later this year.

Jenkins is the founder of disability fashion brand Anne Hayden, and Primark said the move “continues her mission to normalise universal design through her own experience of living with a disability.”

Anne-Marie Cregan, trading director at Primark, added: “Like us, Victoria is incredibly passionate about making fashion accessible to everyone, and we look forward to learning from her and working together to accelerate our ambitions to bring more affordable adaptive fashion to the high street.”

“Primark’s recognition of the needs of disabled and chronically ill people and taking meaningful action will transform the lives of millions of people,” Jenkins said.

Unhidden launched its first line in 2020 and became the first adaptive brand to become a member of the British Fashion Council and show at London Fashion Week.
