Controversial boxing star Ryan Garcia has once again taken to social media, targeting the LGBTQ+ community in his latest rant.
Garcia has been dogged by a series of controversial incidents outside the ring in 2024. He is currently serving a one-year suspension after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug Ostarine in a pre-fight drug test linked to his recent win over Devin Haney.
The 25-year-old Garcia is one of the most talented fighters in boxing today, but he has a history of shaky behavior on his social media accounts.

The LGBT community is a cult

“The LGBTQ community is a cult,” Garcia posted.
Garcia then reversed course in a follow-up tweet, seemingly clarifying his stance on gay people.
Now gays and lesbians
If you can do it
Forgiveness and love can be found, but what the community is doing to these kids is terrible.
I don’t care at all
— Ryan Garcia (@RyanGarcia) July 26, 2024
“Gay and lesbian people, if you have the heart for it. I can find forgiveness and love, but I don’t care about the horrible things your community is doing to our children,” Garcia posted.
Earlier this month, Garcia was accused of breaking into and vandalising the home of his ex-partner, prompting the woman to apply for a restraining order, and was recently kicked out of the World Boxing Championship after making racist rants against black and Muslim people.
Inside the ring, Garcia has largely lived up to the expectations he had at the start of his career, but his majority decision win over Haney was recently called off due to a failed drug test.
Garcia won his first 23 professional fights before suffering a knockout loss to Gervonta Davis in 2023. A rematch with Haney is being considered for a return to the boxing ring.
Garcia’s return to boxing is still a long way off, and in the meantime he continues to generate a lot of controversy on social media.
