BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. — Hollywood star Ryan Gosling made waves in Central New York earlier this year when he was spotted wearing a “Baldwinsville Football” jacket. Now, he’s sent out one of his own as a thank you for the attention.
Gosling’s stylist, Marc Avery, said the Oscar-nominated actor autographed a letter jacket from his new film, “The Fall Guy,” and sent it to the village of Baldwinsville.
“Baldwinsville…Thank you for the jacket, here’s mine,” Gosling wrote on the yellow sleeve, with the word “GO” next to it and a cartoon of a bee, Baldwinsville’s sports mascot, and Gosling’s signature at the bottom.
Avery said he would like to display the jacket at the Beeville Diner for everyone in Baldwinsville to enjoy.
“Absolutely… we’ll put together a nice spot,” said Daniel Burchill, general manager of Beeville Diner.

Here’s one of mine,” Gosling wrote, along with his autograph and a cartoon of the Beebilbees mascot.
He said he will display it alongside a photo of Gosling and add wall decor such as an autographed photo of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” star Guy Fieri and memorabilia from the Syracuse University basketball team’s 2003 championship win.
Jill Offlady said Avery wanted to thank her and Gosling after seeing a video of Baker High School students throwing a La La Land-themed prom, which her daughter Mallory sent to Avery.
Senior Ryan Bliss invited Gosling to Baldwinsville for an episode of “Baker News” this spring, where he sang “I’m Just Ken” from the “Barbie” movies and offered to treat Gosling to lunch at the Barbie Diner.
While Gosling wasn’t able to visit, Avery said she also heard from the daughter of the restaurant’s late owner, Jim Orlando, who wanted to give her a gift and asked for the jacket that’s hanging in the restaurant. Offlady presented the jacket to the Beeville Diner on Friday.

The Baldwinsville connection began in April, when Gosling was first seen wearing a vintage red sports jacket emblazoned with the words “Baldwinsville Football” and the Baldwinsville Central School District’s Bees mascot. Paparazzi photos showed Gosling wearing the jacket while leaving Lattanzi Cucina Italiana restaurant in New York City’s Theater District. He also wrote, “Saturday Night LiveThe script reading for ” ” took place just a few days before he hosted “SNL” on April 13th.
Photos and videos of Gosling quickly spread among Baldwinsville residents, alumni, and others around CNY.
Avery, a celebrity stylist and film costume designer, said he bought the jacket at a flea market in Long Beach, Calif., simply because he thought it looked nice — a sentiment Gosling agreed.

“So happy you all saw it and love the style!” Avery wrote in a TikTok message to Baldwinsville resident Veda Terinoni.
The name “Jason” was also inscribed on the jacket, but it’s unclear who this ’80s jacket originally belonged to. Retired MLB pitcher and 1994 Baldwinsville High School graduate Jason Grilli joked that it was his, but longtime Baldwinsville High School football coach Carl Sanfilippo said Grilli never played football, so the fashion mystery continues.
Gosling, a 43-year-old actor who was rumored to have visited nearby Skaneateles in 2013, is a three-time Academy Award nominee whose filmography includes Barbie, The Notebook, Drive, Blade Runner 2049, La La Land, The Big Short, The Nice Guys, Remember the Titans, Lars and the Real Girl, Young Hercules, The Mickey Mouse Club, All Good Things, The Place Beyond the Pines (filmed in upstate New York) and Love Story.
Gosling most recently starred as a stuntman opposite Emily Blunt in “The Fall Guy,” which is currently available to rent or buy on demand on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube, Spectrum, Verizon and other streaming platforms.
