Shannen Doherty was proud of her youthful looks until her untimely death earlier this month. Posthumously, she appeared on the “House of Halliwell” podcast on July 29 and revealed that she had an epiphany about her appearance while rewatching the early 2000s version of “Charmed.”

“What’s really interesting about rewatching these movies as a woman is I’m like, ‘Oh, I was really beautiful then,'” Doherty said on Monday, admitting that she also wasn’t wearing much makeup at the time, but still looked radiant, youthful and slim.

Doherty added that while looking back on her past work is fun, it’s the first time she’s felt a bit sad. “Young people waste their youth,” she said, adding that if she had the looks she had now in her 50s, she’d be 100% grateful for them. The late actress joked that, although she’s lost weight since her cancer diagnosis, she’s not as skinny as she was then.

In a segment from the iHeartRadio podcast posted to Instagram, Doherty’s former Charmed co-star Rose McGowan left an emotional comment. Check it out below!

Rose McGowan remembers Shannen Doherty

McGowan said Doherty’s death still doesn’t feel real, as she continues to believe she will soon see her late friend. “It feels real, but it’s not real. Even at this late stage, her brilliant mind was so clear that it just doesn’t feel right,” she said of Doherty. “Always Shannen,” she concluded.

Charmed aired from 1998 to 2006 and centered on the lives of the three Halliwell sisters, Prue, Piper and Phoebe, played by Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, respectively. After Doherty left the show, McGowan joined the cast as long-lost half-sister Paige Matthews.

Shannen Doherty dies of cancer at age 53

Doherty’s longtime publicist, Leslie Sloane, announced the unfortunate news of the actress’ passing on Sunday, July 14, saying that the actress died the previous day surrounded by her dog Bowie and loved ones.

Doherty, who starred in Beverly Hills 90210, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She announced she was in remission on Instagram in April 2017, but the cancer returned in 2019 and she was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 the following year. Just last year, Doherty told People magazine that she wasn’t done with life yet.
