My bias against felt tip eyeliners stems from years of disappointment. I won’t name names, but I’ve tried numerous creations (including some “cult classics”). However, they all had patchy application. Even if it applies smoothly, if the liner takes too long to dry, my single eyelid look is over. If the liner is even slightly wet, it will stamp on your eyelids with just a blink.
So when I received a sample of Lisa Eldridge’s Kitten Flick Liquid Eyeliner, I expected it to end up in the trash too. But it’s been 5 months and it’s still going strong. Felt-tip brushes come in a variety of sizes, but I find thick marker-type brushes to be cumbersome, especially when trying to create a knife-sharp tip. Kitten Flick’s small brush tip allows you to control the thickness of your lines. Additionally, the ink is darkly pigmented and flows smoothly from the brush for even application. And importantly, it dries very quickly. It hardens almost as soon as you apply it. In other words, there is no movement of the lid. The longevity is also impressive. Again, my eyeliner is constantly exposed to friction due to my single eyelids, and the line disappears or blurs after a while. Kitten Flick stays dark and powerful for 12 hours.
I actually tried out Kitten Flick when I booked a trip to Disney World with my best friend in September. In Orlando, I was constantly sweltering, but after a day at the park (including a Princess Tiana ride that actually got wet), my eyeliner still looked good. Even after the skin tint had melted, Kitten Flick looked just as crisp and sharp as when I first applied it.
After Disney, I sold really well. I still use Kitten Flick every day and am still using my first tube. This is the only felt tip liner I will ever buy. If you’re as much of an eyeliner fanatic as I am, you might want to give it a try.
