SYKY launches Apple Vision Pro app, revolutionizing retail by bringing mixed reality to the fashion industry.
Luxury fashion platform SYKY launches a new spatial computing experience at a showcase for cutting-edge Japanese brand Anrealage. The SYKY application is designed to offer fashion fans a groundbreaking opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative worlds of renowned designers and leading fashion houses.
“At SYKY, we believe the fashion industry is undergoing a period of significant change as reality converges and digital fashion experiences blend with the physical world,” said Alice Delahunt, CEO and Founder of SYKY.
“With the release of the Apple Vision Pro app, we are excited to continue to lead in this new space. The app takes consumers to the forefront of the fashion industry, providing them with access to impeccable design and inspiration, delivering the ultimate luxury fashion experience.”
The SYKY app aims to create a spatial environment that vividly showcases premium craftsmanship and offers users an immersive user experience. SYKY highlights the surreal depth, texture and narrative elements of the app, introducing a level of engagement previously limited to in-person fashion experiences such as runway shows, now accessible through the SYKY platform.
SYKY for Apple Vision Pro is available for free download from the visionOS App Store.
Anrealage XR Partnership Details
The SYKY app’s inaugural exhibition spotlights the work of ANREALAGE and its founder, Kunihiko Morinaga. According to SYKY, highlights of the exhibition include an exclusive transforming, color-changing pyramid dress inspired by a custom ANREALAGE gown worn by Beyoncé on her Renaissance tour, as well as pieces from the label’s HOME collection.
The immersive experience is designed to enable interactive storytelling and encourage exploration at every turn, powered by the advanced hand-and-eye tracking capabilities of Apple Vision Pro. Participants will have the opportunity to view the Pyramid Dress up close, move around the dress and touch interactive features to explore more deeply the garment’s design, materials and exquisite craftsmanship.
Additionally, users can go behind the scenes with Morinaga and gain insight into his artistry, collaborations and vision for the evolution of fashion, all expressed through his own story.
“Fashion shows that once required long-distance travel or the experience of purchasing clothes in a store can now be accessed simply by placing a device in your own room,” Morinaga added. “All the constraints of reality have been removed, allowing you to freely experience the extraordinary world of fashion from the comfort of your own room or everyday life.”
While Morinaga typically conceptualizes his designs in 3D before realizing them as physical pieces, creating the Pyramid Dress for SYKY was a liberation from the constraints of real-world processes. Manipulating different textures, fabrics and shapes, he was able to allow the Pyramid Dress to develop naturally. SYKY suggests that the piece delves into the designer’s philosophy of clothing as expansive structures that transform into personal spaces that individuals occupy.
SYKY highlights that the partnership between SYKY and Anrealage marks the platform’s foray into spatial computing, as demonstrated by Apple Vision Pro. After the first exhibition, SYKY plans to collaborate with other leading fashion houses to create a series of curated XR masterpieces. Visitors can explore digital versions of workshops, design studios, fashion showcases or avant-garde retail spaces to get an up-close look at bespoke fashion creations.
