Tabitha Brown is a certified fashionista.

With her big Afro hair and colorful palette, her style is her own. She has the confidence to wear anything she chooses, but that doesn’t mean all the “fits” she loves are always the best choice. why? According to Brown, her incontinence was an issue she had to consider when choosing a look, whether it was casual, a night out, or on-air.

“It could be as simple as me liking bright colors. I’m not someone who wears a lot of black. Even when I go to the gym, I’m like, ‘Lord, I don’t want to wear anything too light just in case. “I was wearing black tights,” she revealed to VIBE. “But it’s the same thing when you go out wearing a solid color. I think that’s probably part of the reason why I prefer patterned items. When I wear pants in a solid color like red or pink, they stand out even when I sweat. But if you have a bladder leak, you’re sitting there and you’re like, ‘Oh, Lord, I hope there’s nothing in the back of my pants or in the front of my pants.’

Braun found a solution with Always Discreet, a product line aimed at addressing incontinence and providing protection for those who need more security than panty liners without the thickness of traditional pads. I did. For Brown, it was a godsend, but she also understands why many women are hesitant to admit they need such a product. But her goal is to help them deal with their problems as well as she does.

“Girl, there’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Brown insists. “We’re in this together. You’re not alone. And honey, you can get your life back. You can go out laughing with your friends without being embarrassed or scared.” Let’s go work out. Wear what we really want to wear. This is how we get our lives back.”

She told her own story. “For me, it started pretty early in my 30s, after my son was born. It was something as simple as sneezing. I thought, ‘Wait, did I just pee on myself?’ Ta. Jesus. ‘When it became reality, I thought, ‘Lord, why isn’t anyone talking about this?’ And I think that’s because even when it first happened, it was embarrassing and that was one of the things that was scary for you. And I wanted to erase that stigma and shame and embarrassment and help women start the conversation. ”

Despite her embarrassment and confusion, Brown is now able to rock what she loves without fear of unexpected tingles ruining her fall wardrobe.

“I’m a vegan so I don’t wear leather, but I love boots with a good print or embroidery or patterns on the fabric,” Brown said of her fall fashion recommendations. “I love, love, love bell-bottoms, corduroy bell-bottoms. I’m a hippie through and through, and I wear Afros, so the ’70s is just that kind of vibe for me. I love a good corduroy bell-bottom. .I love a nice sweater in many colors.
