Two men and one woman suspected of storming a Lake Elsinore store and stealing thousands of dollars worth of cosmetics were jailed Friday.
Jeremy Mikal Lewis, 25, Robert Edward Thompson, 37, and Ursula Charise Ventura, 48, all of Chino, were arrested Thursday after a week-long investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The three were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, organized retail theft, grand larceny and receiving stolen property. Lewis and Thompson are being held at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, and Ventura is being held at the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on $10,000 bail each.
According to sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Thomas, the three men are accused of breaking into the mall outlet in the 18400 block of Collier Avenue near Third Street on the morning of July 15 and taking as many items as they could, stealing an estimated $7,000 worth of self-care and related products.
They fled before patrol teams arrived on the scene.
Thomas said detectives followed their trail over the next few days, eventually identifying them and executing a search warrant at a home in the 16300 block of East Preserve Loop in Chino.
“Thompson, Lewis and several pieces of evidence relating to the crime were found at the residence,” the sergeant said, adding that they were taken into custody without incident.
Ventura was found a short time later at a home in the 5400 block of Daniels Street and taken into custody.
No background information on the suspects was available.
