The aftermath of the robbery at Beauty and Beyond.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In just four minutes, a group of robbers stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a local beauty supply store.
Inside Beauty and Beyond in South Memphis, it appears to be business as usual, but a look outside tells a different story.
Just before 2 a.m. on Monday, the glass in the entrance was shattered and a large hole was found where the main door had once been.

Surveillance camera footage shows a group of people in a white Infiniti SUV using chains to rip off the door to the business.
Over the course of four minutes, the perpetrators are seen repeatedly stealing items including hair, wigs and false eyelashes.
“Nobody wants the old barbershop stuff,” Antoine Neely said. “They want the new stuff.”
Neely, who works just a few feet away, told WREG that security at South Bellevue Plaza has been significantly increased in response to incidents like this one.
“The area is well lit and there are cameras on the building,” Neely said.

But the owner of Beauty and Beyond said increased security alone isn’t enough.
As a result, the store will close permanently as the door replacement work progresses.
He said Monday’s robbery was the fourth this year and that the robbers fled with merchandise worth $10,000.
“This is hurting our wallets and we have to work harder as citizens to protect our communities,” Neely said.
