While most people are anxiously awaiting the last rays of summer sunshine, we editors are always looking ahead to the new season. To build a sophisticated wardrobe, there are several pieces you need to invest in, and I’ve always believed that a great coat is one of them. A key layer in our autumn/winter wardrobe, this piece is the outer shell of our outfits and sets the tone for every look. Finding a coat that can meet this challenge has always come with a hefty price tag, given the detail and quality of its design, but Arket’s early autumn 2024 collection has already proven me wrong.
Arket has a proven track record of delivering premium-looking pieces at a (luxury) high-street budget thanks to their attention to detail, and that’s certainly true when it comes to my new favourite coat: the Double Face Wrap Coat (£189) is made from a refined wool-blend fabric, with a wide collar for a sophisticated edge and an elegant wrap silhouette that looks equally neat whether worn tied or loose.
I was so impressed with this coat that I immediately started planning all the different ways I could wear it, because its neutral color and easy-to-wear style make it a piece that will seamlessly transition from day to work to night. And I can attest to that.
