Customers can choose from three V8 engines, all mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Trick Rides’ “Scorched” Mustang features a full carbon fiber body and three V8 engine options. Each of the 20 limited edition units is built on a custom chassis from the Roadster Shop. The first “Scorched” restomod is scheduled to debut at the end of the first quarter of 2025.

The booming world of restomods shows no signs of slowing down, and a new company based in Yukon, Oklahoma has built what could be one of the best 1969 Mustangs we’ve ever seen. I just previewed the vehicle.

This new rig is known as Trick Ride and was launched by Jason Engel, founder of Classic Recreations, who has built many impressive Mustang restomods over the years. Trick Rides’ first model is called Scorched and is expected to be released at the end of Q1 2025. Exclusivity is key here as production is limited to just 20 units worldwide

The Scorched sits on a custom chassis from the Roadster Shop and includes an independent front suspension with Fox coilovers. The rear suspension features a parallel four-link design and a new stabilizer. As you can imagine, there’s a lot going on under the Mustang’s hood, too.

Customers can choose a 5.0-liter Coyote V8, a 7.1-liter (429 cubic inch) Kaase ‘Boss Nine’ V8, or a Ford Performance 7.0-liter (427 cubic inch) V8 supercharged by VMP Performance. No matter which engine you choose, a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission is standard, as is a custom exhaust with Stainless Works headers and MagnaFlow mufflers.

High-performance hardware doesn’t end with the engine. The new company will fit all cars equipped with Baer brakes, which include six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers. Three-piece Forgeline wheels wrapped in TOYO PROXES R888R tires also come standard.

All of the muscle car’s body panels are made from prepreg carbon fiber. Key parts of the custom design include a carbon splitter, huge hood scoop, custom skirts, and flared front and rear wheel arches. Ringbrothers billet aluminum door handles, hinges, mirrors, and LED taillights were added.

Like other high-end carbon-clad Mustang restomods we’ve seen, Trick Ride’s Scorched is not for the faint of heart or wallet. The starting price is $429,000, or about the same as a new Ferrari 812, making it a showpiece for only the most dedicated and deep-pocketed enthusiasts.
