Haider Ackermann has been named Tom Ford’s new creative director, effective immediately, a press release announced on Wednesday, September 4th. Tom Ford acquisition overview
Founded in 2005, Tom Ford licensed its menswear line to Zegna in 2006. In 2022, Tom Ford sold a majority stake in the brand to Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) for $2.8 billion. The deal allowed Zegna to expand its reach into all Tom Ford fashion categories. ELC licensed the fashion business to Zegna, which already operated a men’s wear division, and at the same time acquired the brand’s beauty and skin care business. The acquisition will be completed by April 2023, and Zegna will acquire Tom Ford International, which handles the fashion business through joint operations with ELC.
