TikTok superstar Alex Consani and actress Valentina Sampaio made history by becoming the first trans models to walk the runway at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The once-famous Victoria’s Secret fashion show came to a shocking halt last night (October 15) after a six-year hiatus following derogatory comments about the trans community by the company’s former head of marketing Ed Razek. It has made a great comeback.
In a 2018 interview with Vogue magazine, Razek suggested that trans women, or “transsexuals” as he called them, would not appear in the Victoria’s Secret show, saying: Because this show is a fantasy. ”
He later apologized and resigned.
After six years, this iconic lingerie runway spectacle is back with a trans model at its center and a truly iconic performance by none other than pop goddess Cher.

Consani shone on the runway wearing Victoria’s Secret’s signature accessory, gorgeous angel wings and matching sky blue underwear. Sampaio appeared wearing a dark brown knicker and bra set with a netted skirt and a giant bow on the back.
Taking to Instagram to congratulate both models on the historic runway, Consani told her 1.1 million followers: “Victoria’s Secret, Illy. Little me is screaming, unable to say anything but thank you.”
Sampaio shared a backstage video of himself signing a Victoria’s Secret wing with the caption: Marked forever! I’ll post more tomorrow! thank you. “

This isn’t the first time Sampaio has made transgender history at Victoria’s Secret. In 2019, she was named the first trans model to wear the brand’s lingerie.
A year later, she became the first transgender person to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Consani made history in August when she became the first trans woman to be nominated for Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards.
The return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show also saw the return of some of the fashion industry’s biggest names, with stars such as Kate Moss, Tyra Banks and Carla Bruni walking the runway.
Fashion stars Gigi and Bella Hadid also took social media by storm with their catwalk outfits.
The show was headlined by a performance by music icon and LGBTQ+ ally Cher.
