Trump shooting victims’ names were always written incorrectly on firefighters’ jackets

“Comperatore” misspelled on firefighter gear during President Trump’s Republican National Convention speech… It’s always been that way.

July 19, 2024 7:29am PST

Donald Trump’s tribute to firefighter Cory Comperatore, who was killed in an assassination attempt, at the Republican National Convention featured him in his turnout gear and a major typographical error … he misspelled the hero’s name, but that’s not the Republican National Convention’s fault.

In his first public speech since being shot in the ear, the former president paid tribute to Corey, who died shielding his family from a hail of bullets.

During the memorial, Trump stood holding CC’s firefighter gear, including a helmet and jacket. On the back of the jacket was CC’s last name, but with the “a” missing, it read “Compertore.”

Of course, this started a political online smear campaign…X liberals denounced the RNC’s spelling mistake, calling it pathetic, embarrassing, and more colorful terms.

Actually… that’s his real coat. His last name wouldn’t fit on the coat so they dropped the A to make it fit.

But it turns out the RNC didn’t get the guy’s name wrong, because CBS News reports they spoke with the Buffalo Township Fire Department, who confirmed that it was Corey’s actual battle-worn jacket — typo and all.

TMZ.com

According to CBS, there wasn’t enough space on the jacket to print Comperatore’s full last name, so the fire department removed the “a” when printing.

So the haters can’t blame this on the Trump campaign or the Republican Party as a whole.

This is not a Republican mistake. It is simply a tribute to a man who lost his life in an incredible incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired multiple shots at Trump, grazing the former president before a sniper returned fire and took down Crooks.

Following the tragedy in Butler, Pennsylvania… Corey’s daughter revealed that her then 50-year-old father shielded her from a bullet when Crooks opened fire, literally giving his life to save hers, making the typo conversation really dull.
