As previously reported, Radio One and Reach Media CEO David Kantor will step down at the end of the year. (BMM 7/16)

Urban One announced that Eddie Harrell Jr. and Deon Levingston have been promoted to co-president of audio. Mr. Harrell, who is based in Cleveland, joined Urban One in 2011 as vice president and general manager of the Columbus facility. He then moved to Cleveland and served as Regional Vice President, managing the Cleveland and Cincinnati markets.

Levingston has served as regional vice president and general manager in Indianapolis since 2016. His experience includes serving as General Manager, President, and SVP/Market Manager at YMF Media and Emmis Communications in New York from 2004 to 2016. At Radio One in Indianapolis, he held various positions from 1998 to 2004, including local sales manager, sales director, and market manager.

“The radio industry is losing one of its giants, and Urban One is proud to announce that its passion and vision have shaped the industry, guided the company, and served an ever-growing and diverse audience,” said Alfred Riggins, CEO of Urban One. “We are saying goodbye to a respected leader who has helped us deliver.” . Eddie Harrell Jr. and Deon Levingston are at the helm and are ready to build on David’s legacy. They understand our brand, our audience, and our place in this industry. Their talent and experience are exactly what we need moving forward. ”
