On October 9, operating company PT KAI announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with manufacturer PT Inka to maintain 31 six-car unmanned trains of the Jabodebek LRT elevated subway operating in the Jakarta area.
The 700 meter stretch of the Stuttgart Line U5 from Rheinfelden station to Rheinfelden Neuer Markt was opened on October 18th.

On October 11, Novosibirsk metro operator Novosibirsk Metropolitana announced that it had signed two contracts with Transmash Holding to supply a total of four 5-car trains of the 81-725/726/727 type by the second quarter of 2026. A contract was signed. Under one contract, TMH Urban Transport will supply three train sets. The terms of the lease are through Sberbank Lease, and a separate agreement calls for TMH’s Metrowagonmash subsidiary to supply an additional train. These vehicles are based on the Baltiets design, which TMH is supplying in St. Petersburg from 2022.

Russian state leasing company GTLK has awarded PK TS a contract to supply five four-axle fully low-floor trams 71-911EM Lyonet to Saratov by the end of November as part of the country’s safe and high-quality roads program. It was concluded.
Three route options are being considered for the proposed extension of Dresden tram line 8 from Hellerau to the semiconductor factory currently under construction by TSMC. The City Council is expected to choose its options at the end of the year.

Systra announced on October 14 that the City of Cluj-Napoca has awarded it a project management contract to oversee the design and construction of the city’s first subway. Construction of the 21km long unmanned subway line has been underway since June.

Demetrius Crichlow has been named president of New York City Transit, a position he had held on an interim basis since May. Tim Mulligan, previously deputy chief development officer at MTA Construction & Development, has been appointed to the newly created position of head of vehicle programs. Melcida Ibrik has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer after six months in the role.
On October 21, Petr Witovski was dismissed as Chairman of the Board and General Manager of the Prague Transport Authority DPP. He was replaced on an interim basis by Ladislav Urbanek. Jiří Špicka and Marek Kopřiva have resigned from the board of directors and have been replaced by DPP’s economic director Jiří Paříszek and technical director Jan Šlovski.

Richard Brooks has been appointed non-executive director of Midland Metro, the Birmingham tram operator owned by the West Midlands Integration Authority. He is the former Customer Experience Director at West Midlands Trains and previously served as Commercial Director at suburban operator London Midland.
