It’s fair to say that we all enjoy using products that feel luxurious, but paying for them isn’t always desirable.
Of course, Post Wanted is committed to helping you find the best products with product reviews from miles around. Beauty products like premium shampoos and ultra-luxurious hair masks are some of our go-to items for an “all-around shower” experience.
As a full-time beauty reporter with a makeshift Sephora store in my bathroom cupboard (no joke), Jisoo is a tried-and-true favourite that’s also been touted as a treasure on TikTok. Here you can find my full review of the products I’ve bought in bulk from the brand, and I’ve tested everything from their signature Honey Infused Hair Oil to their latest offerings.

“The foundation of our brand, and our passionate community, is in our heritage and our products,” the Gisou team told the New York Post exclusively. “Gisou has an incredibly authentic brand identity based on Negin’s six-generation beekeeping traditions, and uses ingredients sourced directly from our own Mirsalehi apiary to create products that are performance-driven, yet luxurious and sensory.”
Essentially, the brand creates a line of transformative beauty products backed by science, with easy-to-follow DIY hair (and skin) education, and results that their community will want to share with others, whether that’s via social media or in person.
Read on for detailed reviews of each product to help you decide what to invest in next. After using this amazing line of products, my hair feels softer, smoother, and easier to style, so you’ll want to stock up on your favorite products too.
Sephora
Strong Points:
Nourishes hair and scalp. Luxurious, cosmetically elegant finish and feel. Prolonged use nourishes the scalp and improves hair health.
Cons:
The price may be out of reach for some
As someone who isn’t a huge fan of hair oils, I have to say that Gisou’s Honey Infused Hair Oil is one of my favourites and well worth investing in. Even if you start with the smallest size to minimise costs, you will be hugely impressed with the quality.
“Our first hero is our Honey Infused Hair Oil,” the brand told The Post. “The formula is a family recipe made by Negin’s mother, a beekeeper’s wife and apprentice cosmetologist, using honey from the family’s Mirsalehi Bee Garden. It’s been Negin’s haircare secret for hydrated, shiny, healthy hair since she was a little girl, and has grown into Jisoo’s best-selling, award-winning, and clinically proven hair icon.”
There are many ways to use hair oil, but I like to put a few drops on my scalp and rinse it out before applying shampoo. It’s great for slicking back hair or occasionally moisturizing the ends, and it’s not sticky and looks beautiful, so it’s worth it to me.
The formula is nourishing and definitely gives my hair a beautiful shine. My hair is naturally wavy and this product tames it and keeps frizz at bay. Needless to say, this is a signature product from the brand and a testament to what made it possible in the first place, so it’s worth picking up for your next best hair day.
Additionally, it is said to increase hair shine by 143%, provide 72 hours of moisture, frizz and humidity control, and protect hair from heat damage up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sephora
Strong Points:
Great for chapped lips. Feels like a lip mask but applies like a lip gloss. Available in a wide range of color and flavor options.
Cons:
Some flavors, like Honey Gold and Coconut Frosted, are more nutritious than others.
Oh, you need Gisou’s Moisturizing Lip Oil with Honey. I have tried all the flavors and never experienced such a natural glow. I have reviewed most of the lip oils.
I love that it’s under $30 and contains a generous amount of dermatologist-recommended hyaluronic acid in one tube to give you a beautiful glow and shine. I love that it’s great for combating dryness and gives you an automatic glow without the need for lip liner or lipstick.
Additionally, this product is infused with Mirsalehi honey and bee garden oil, both of which are highly hydrating for lips, providing high shine, hydration and a non-sticky finish.
Honey Infused Lip Oil is reputed for its honey-powered long-lasting moisturization and juicy, delicious scent. “The formula is made up of a unique, intensely moisturizing blend of our proprietary Mirsalehi Honey and Bee Garden Oil, with added Jojoba and Meadowfoam Seed Oils for extra hydration and long-lasting results,” Ghisoo told the Post. “Available at Sephora, Honey Infused Lip Oil is like skin care for your lips, with the benefits of a glossy (and tinted) shine without the stickiness of traditional lip gloss.”
Gisou’s Honey Infused Hydrating Lip Oil comes in Honey Gold (OG), Mango Passion Punch, Strawberry Sherbet, Watermelon Sugar, and Coconut Frost flavors. I use lip oils every day and my favorite is the original Honey Gold. Strawberry Sherbet stands out for its natural color. I recommend the latter if you want a vibrant color on your lips without sacrificing nutrients.
Sephora
Strong Points:
Long-lasting fresh scent. Helps combat humidity. Prolongs blowout duration.
Cons:
The price may be out of reach for some
New in: Hair perfume. This isn’t a beauty category I’ve been avid in, but I’m glad I’ve started incorporating it into my hair care routine.
Ghisoo Honey Infused Hair Perfume is what put hair perfume on the map. It’s perfect for hot and humid weather as it doesn’t make your hair smell sweaty or “outdoorsy”. It’s long lasting and one of my new must-haves.
I know what you’re thinking: just spray perfume on your hair! I thought the same, but it’s not the same. The finish, purpose and fresh scent works well on all hair types and it’s a product that all my friends steal from me. Now I never go on holiday without it.
“Just like your everyday perfume, our hair perfume gives your hair that same luxurious, special scent by refreshing, scenting and adding shine with honey-infused fragrance,” Guissou told the Post. “It’s a next-day haircare essential that’s quick and easy to use on the go.”
Sephora
Strong Points:
It smells amazing and feels luxurious. It really gives a “clean” feeling, especially on the scalp. It tames frizz really well.
Cons:
It doesn’t lather as well as other shampoos we tested, and it works even better if you rinse twice (i.e. shampoo twice).
Introducing Gisou’s Hair Wash Shampoo with Honey, one of the best shampoos I’ve reviewed. It’s a nourishing shampoo that helps tame frizzy or fine hair, and it’s sulfate-free, giving you the gentlest cleanse.
This shampoo works wonders when used with the brand’s honey-infused conditioner or the more conditioning Guisu honey-infused hair mask. It doesn’t lather as well as other shampoos I’ve tried, but it leaves a smooth finish and doesn’t take away from the smoothness of your hair after blow drying.
Sephora
Strong Points:
The smoothest feeling conditioner compared to other test results. Available in travel and regular sizes. Feels weightless upon application and has an unbeatable scent.
Cons:
May not be suitable for very thick or coily hair types
Gisou’s Honey Conditioner is the perfect successor to the brand’s Honey Hair Wash Shampoo. It’s not too thin, not too thick, not too sticky – it’s just the right consistency, so I use this formula all the time, even though it’s a completely different shampoo brand.
As far as conditioners go, this one leaves my hair the smoothest. It’s really lightweight, has a great scent to match, and is super moisturizing. It’s infused with honey, which is on par with many of the brand’s more moisturizing, luxurious-feeling products.
Amazon
Strong Points:
The best hair mask I’ve ever tried. Smells heavenly, like sweet honey and marshmallow. Deeply moisturizing without weighing hair down.
Cons:
The price may be out of reach for some
For deep conditioning that’ll make you feel like royalty, try Gisou’s Honey-Infused Hair Mask. While the brand’s Honey-Infused Conditioner is plenty moisturizing, this one is so powerful you’ll enjoy using it in the shower.
Even better, it’s super moisturizing without weighing your hair down, and it comes in mini and regular-sized options, so you might want to give it a try before your next beauty product purchase (spoiler alert: you should definitely get this one).
The sweet scent combined with the luxurious feel of this product makes it a real blessing for your hair. I love using it once a week as I think it makes a difference to the health and growth of my hair.
Sephora
Strong Points:
Curls hair effectively without creasing. Heat is evenly distributed and the tool heats up quickly. Sleek, ergonomic design
Cons:
Not readily available, and priced so it may be out of reach for some
Yes, Gisou has a curling iron: Limited edition and available only at Sephora, the brand’s curling tool is one of the best for avoiding the crispy feeling that some clamp irons inevitably cause on the ends of your hair.
The tool heats up quickly, which is no bad thing when it comes to showing off that beautiful pink color. Great heat resistance means you can achieve beachy waves or loose curls, making this product super versatile.
Sephora
Strong Points:
Sweet and distinctive Gisou scent. Supports overall scalp and hair health. Highly nourishing and moisturizing.
Cons:
The price may be out of reach for some people. Results are not immediate (best with long-term, consistent use).
A lesser known product from Gisou is the relatively new Honey-Infused Hair Repair Serum, and to be honest, I don’t use it all the time, but I love how it makes my hair feel.
Designed for damaged hair, this product is like using Gisou products on overdrive. It’s packed with extra moisture and nutrients, and a little goes a long way. I like to apply this to my scalp from time to time to support the health of my hair and scalp.
It also has the same sweet honey scent, and I think this is a great hair supplement to pair with any of Gisou’s products, but it’s not essential – however, I enjoy using it and it’s worth a try if you’re looking for a scalp or holistic hair health serum that you can use on an ongoing basis.
How we tested
I have reviewed several products from Gisou, from hair oils to lip oils. Victoria Giardina
After using Sol de Janerio for at least four years, here’s what I keep in mind about each product:
Formula: Is it moisturizing? Does it last? These were the main factors considered. Hair Health: Ideally, you want your hair care products to work, so you use these products continually to evaluate the health of your hair over time. Quality vs. price: Gisou is relatively priced, so I’ve made sure to mention value and quality in each individual review.
