For most of us, the 2024 Paris Olympics is all about which team is best equipped to succeed. But as a beauty editor, I’m naturally more interested in the Olympic nail art that’ll be making an appearance in Paris. After her “Night Before the Olympics” party on July 25, I’m 100% sure Zendaya established the bubble bath nail trend as the most popular nail color at the Olympics.
The “Euphoria” actress headed from London to Paris for a gala hosted by Louis Vuitton on July 25. Styled by her longtime image architect Law Roach, Zendaya paired her beaded Louis Vuitton gown with a mini box bag. Her nails, previously maroon-polished, were trimmed into structured squares and buffed to a cloudy pinkish-white shade of bubble-bath manicure, one of summer’s biggest nail trends.
Zendaya sported a wet-look hairstyle for the celebration.

“The bubble bath manicure is the answer to the question, ‘What will a clean girl wear on her nails in 2024?'” celebrity nail artist Rita Remark previously told Marie Claire magazine. Its pure, sophisticated aesthetic is one of the reasons why Meghan Markle, Princess Kate, and the entire USA Gymnastics team are all fans of the style.
According to official US Olympic Gymnastics rules and policies, nails must be a neutral color to avoid distracting the judges. This is part of the reason why Sunisa Lee’s Olympic logo nails were white-based. It also explains the color choice for her current collaboration with KISS. The nail’s pinkish-white shade is simple yet sophisticated, and strikingly similar to the color of Zendaya’s hands.

The same subtle trend has also been seen on Simone Biles’ nails (she opted for a classic French manicure) and Jordan Childs’ hands (she added a touch of blue to her nail tips). To get in on the bubble bath nail trend, arguably the most popular Olympic hue, shop my favorite nail polishes ahead.
