Katie Holmes attended the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York on Monday night with Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon. Katy has brought glamor back to her red carpet repertoire by incorporating bold colors and silhouettes in a big departure from her usual style.

She’s known for her luxe boho aesthetic and penchant for dark tones, but this pink and red Carolina Herrera Spring 2025 column dress with cutouts was a welcome surprise.

The long-sleeved gown had a clean, cylindrical silhouette that gave her a statuesque presence. The combination of pink and red enlivened her look, and the subtle cutout at the waist gave it a modern edge rarely seen from her. It was as if Katy had ditched her usual understated approach and added a modern twist.
Her black Carolina Herrera postcard clutch may feel a little out of place against the bold hue at first, but the black ribbon detail at the back of the dress brings the whole look together. It was tied together. It’s a detail that works quietly and effectively.
Katie’s accessories were similarly well-chosen, with ruby, rubellite, and pink quartz drop earrings subtly complementing the pink and red of her dress.
This is one of Katy’s most refreshing looks of the year, but some might say it’s even longer.
The return of Katy’s classic glamor feels like a fun throwback, and a side of Katy that the red carpet has been missing.
