Rory McIlroy is receiving the royal treatment at Wimbledon, dressed to impress, wearing a master’s green jacket to match London’s pristine grass courts.
Without a doubt, there is no better place for McIlroy to show off the evidence of his second consecutive Masters victory than at the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament, held on Center Court. McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll attended Wimbledon on Wednesday, sitting front row center in the coveted invite-only seats to watch McIlroy’s second favorite sport. The couple posed for the crowd and even shared a few smooches as they enjoyed their special day.
Other members of the European Ryder Cup team also joined McIlroy in the Royal Box, including teammates Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood, team captain Luke Donald, and vice-captains Thomas Bjorn, Edoardo Molinari and Francesco Molinari. The team faced off against Jannik Sinner’s Nuno Borges in the second round, and McIlroy had a chat with the defending champion after the win.
McIlroy is likely to camp at his home across the pond for the next few weeks, with his next stop on the PGA Tour being the Genesis Scottish Open in North Berwick, Scotland, followed two weeks later by the British Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England.
The two-time major champion has been scouting for the final major of the season since last month, aiming for his first British Open title since 2014.
