Reddit user Fentoozlers shared his advice on the social media platform.
There are special indicators to show when branded items are in stock, she said.
Employees also added some beauty products they purchased themselves, including beauty tools.
She shared specific labels to look out for on the packaging to spot a decent knockoff of a pricey product.
How to save money
Dollar Tree employees said branded items sometimes arrive in plain packaging.
There are still ways to identify those products, she said.
“Look for the iridescent pink bags containing name brand nail polish and lipstick, then watch as you are handed a white cardboard box,” she said.
She said her store recently stocked Revlon and Maybelline foundations.

Reddit users added some of their favorite Dollar Tree products.
“I buy a lot of nail polish there, as well as the general stuff like tweezers and spoolies. I also like to buy lipstick,” she said.
“The LA Colors brand is really fun and they often have themed collections – right now we have a cute bubble tea collection.
“Mine also has lots of fun headbands and hair clips. I also carry storage for vanity tables and more.”
Find someone to deceive
Dollar Tree employees shared their own methods for quickly spotting fakes.
I’m not a beauty fussy person, but I do love the “luxury” skin care serums I get from Dollar Tree – they’re just as good as anything I’d buy at the drugstore.
She said she had received many alternatives to more expensive items at discount stores, which led to this discovery.
“I’ve seen face lotions that say on the packaging, ‘Compare to CeraVe moisturizer,'” she adds.
“I haven’t compared ingredients, I just had a quick look.
“But if you want to compare ingredients, it’s worth looking at similar products.”
Dollar Tree is known for priced most items at $1.25.
