The Art of Hip Hop (AOHH) is pleased to announce “Old School vs. New School” Hip Hop Fashion, a groundbreaking new exhibit featuring iconic designs from then and now. This exciting addition to AOHH’s exhibitions will open on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm with the proud sponsorship of Lalo Tequila.
The exhibit will highlight the evolution of hip hop fashion by juxtaposing the classic styles of legendary designer Shirt King Faded with the contemporary innovations of local Latina fashion designer and Emmy Award-winning Lila Nicole. This permanent exhibit aims to showcase the profound impact hip hop has had on the fashion industry and celebrate its cultural influence.
A highlight of the evening will be a fascinating panel discussion entitled “The Intersection of Hip Hop Music and Fashion,” moderated by the renowned Supa Cindy and featuring Lila Nikole and DJ Dinero. The panel will explore the dynamic relationship between hip hop and fashion, delving into how these two cultural forces influence and inspire each other.
Additionally, Lila Nicole will be introducing a limited edition reversible bucket hat designed exclusively for AOHH. Available in two unique designs, the hats will be available for sale at the event for $32, giving attendees the chance to own a piece of fashion history.
