TikTok is a hotbed of new recipes. Remember the whipped coffee that went viral during the pandemic? How about dirty soda? But now there’s a new drink taking the video streaming platform by storm: Fluffy Coke.
If you’re not yet familiar with this trend, let me explain. Fluffy Coke is actually a simple drink that combines Marshmallow Fluff with your favorite soda, whether that’s Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, or whatever carbonated drink you have in your fridge. It’s easy to make: just spread a generous amount of Marshmallow Fluff on the inside of a cup, add a few ice cubes, and pour in your Coke (or other carbonated drink). Voila!
The drink phenomenon has exploded on TikTok, with thousands of creators trying it for themselves, but Emma Grace (aka @not.eg) and her Memama were among the first to make it happen.
“I could drink like four of these,” she says in the video, which has been viewed 3.7 million times and has more than 290,000 likes since it was posted in early July.
While some fans raved about the recipe, admitting it was “delicious,” others disagreed. Critics called it “overrated,” “weird,” and “should be illegal.” One even went so far as to say it “ruins” the crispy bubbles in their favorite sodas.
“How can someone love diet coke and now they’re making it fluffy?? This is really destroying the very meaning of diet coke,” another user added.
But there’s an even bigger concern: the sugar content. Commenters called it “diabetes in a cup” and admitted that “putting sugar in a Coke is crazy.” And they’re not wrong.

According to Delish, having a fluffy Coke every once in a while is “no big deal,” but drinking sugary drinks on a regular basis “can leave you feeling fatigued.” [and] It will probably make you nauseous.” It can also cause tooth decay and “impair your overall health.”
“I believe everything should be done in moderation,” she added.
