Trump thanks Milwaukee at Republican National Convention: ‘I hope you remember this in November’

Former President Donald Trump paid tribute to the man who was shot and killed at a rally on Saturday during his highly anticipated speech at the Republican National Convention.
Corey Comperatore, 50, is a former Buffalo Township fire chief. His helmet and uniform with the word “Buffalo” emblazoned on it were placed on the stage as Trump arrived to speak. The former president kissed Comperatore’s helmet before calling for a moment of silence.
However, there was a spelling mistake on the jacket, which his family acknowledged they knew about: on the jacket, his last name is spelled Compertore.
Comperatore’s family told ABC News they gave the jacket to Trump’s staff for tonight, and it matches one that was on display outside a Pennsylvania fire station after Trump’s death.
According to his obituary, Comperatore worked as a project and tools engineer, was an Army Reserve officer and was a volunteer firefighter for many years after serving as station chief.
The Secret Service said Crooks, 20, opened fire on President Trump and a crowd at a Trump rally last week, wounding the former president and two others and shooting him dead.
